Measurement of Actor External Dependencies in GRL Models

چکیده
Goal models represent interests, intentions, and strategies of different stakeholders in early requirements engineering. When capturing requirements of socio-technical systems, goal models evolve quickly to become large and complex. Hence, understanding and maintaining such goal models become more challenging. Software engineering metric-based approaches have shown good potential in measuring software designs. In this paper, we propose a structural metric to measure actor external dependencies in GRL (Goal-oriented Requirement Language) models. We illustrate our approach by applying our metric to a goal model describing undergraduate students’ involvement in research activities.

A Methodology for Unified Assessment of Physical and Geographical Dependencies of Wide Area Measurement Systems in Smart Grids
Wide Area Measurement Systems (WAMS) enable real time monitoring and control of smart grids by combining digital measurement devices, communication and control systems. As WAMS consist of various infrastructures, they imply complex dependencies among their underlying systems and components of different types, such as cyber, physical and geographical dependencies. Although several works exist in...
متن کاملA Practical Dramaturgy for Actors through Theatrical Production Procedures
Dramaturgy, as a creative and critical act dependent on the theoretical and practical knowledge of theater, consists of two parts with Greek roots: Drama (action) and Ourgia (work and operation). Ourgia literally means to practice, act, and in other words process a raw material. Eugenio Barba divides Dramaturgy in to three parts: Actor Dramaturgy, Director Dramaturgy and Audience Dramaturgy. Th...
متن کاملReasoning about Goal Satisfaction for Early Requirements Engineering in the i* Framework using Inter-Actor Dependency
In the software development cycle, requirements engineering plays a major role in the success of a software system. In early requirement engineering, various alternative design options for software are explored and the best ones are selected. The requirements analyst uses goal models to analyse different design alternatives. Goal models like the i*, and Tropos include inter-actor dependencies w...
متن کاملAnalyzing Second Order Dependencies in i
Dependencies among intentional actors is a fundamental feature of i* Modelling. By depending on others, an actor can achieve much beyond what it can by itself. At the same time, the dependent actor becomes vulnerable to the failings of dependees. However, even when dependees are fully fulfilling expectations, over time, depending on other actors can result in structures that are hard to change....
متن کاملA Textual Syntax with Tool Support for the Goal-Oriented Requirement Language
Most goal-oriented modeling languages, including i*, Tropos, KAOS and the Goal-oriented Requirement Language (GRL), offer a graphical syntax, sometimes accompanied by a textual interchange format (e.g., in XML). Graphical representations of goal models excel at supporting discussions and at visualizing analysis results. However, creating/modifying goal models is often a tedious task with curren...
